IMTA Training Registration Cancellation and Refund Policy
Overview: IMTA provides education and training programs to support the personal and professional development of its members. Training opportunities include, but are not limited to, the Institute and the Annual Conference. Training registration fees are set and approved by the IMTA Board of Directors. This policy will be applied fairly and consistently to all members, regardless of the reason for their inability to attend an event. Process: If a member registers for an event, they are expected to pay the associated registration fee unless they contact IMTA to cancel their registration. Refund requests meeting the parameters below will be processed by the Association Manager and presented to the Board of Directors for official documentation. Registration Cancellation and Refunds: Due to expenses incurred by the Association in planning training sessions, attendees are subject to the following cancellation and refund procedures: Cancellation Requests: All cancellation and refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to the Association Manager. All approved refunds are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. Refund Structure: For all training events, the refund deadline date will be three weeks prior to the start of the training and will be clearly indicated on registration information/promotions.
- Requests received before the refund deadline will receive a full refund, minus the $50 cancellation fee.
- Requests received 10 days or more before the event but after the refund deadline will receive a 50% refund, minus the $50 cancellation fee.
- Requests received fewer than 10 days before the event will not be granted a refund; however, they may transfer the registration to another member within their municipality for a $25 transfer fee.
Exceptions: In cases of serious illness, death of an immediate family member or other unexpected emergency causing an attendee’s inability to attend a training, the Board of Directors may review the request and authorize a refund outside of standard policy parameters.
