Institute

The Institute program is the core of IMTA's educational programs. Held every November, this four-day learning experience is a must-have for any treasury professional who wants to gain all the skills necessary to do their job. Established in 1981, the program is designed to accommodate the certification requirements of both our state certification, the CIMT, and the national CPFA administered by APT US&C. The curriculum of Institute is developed in cooperation with the national Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada (APT US&C) to ensure a wide array of topics are addressed.

Institute is an intensive experience of continuing professional education for municipal treasurers, general finance officers, and certified public accountants. Depending on your level of experience, you can choose how you attend Institute. Typically, members who are newer to their roles attend the entire conference while those who already hold their CIMT attend a portion of the conference.

The 2025 Institute will be held in Bloomington, Illinois in November. More information and registration coming soon!
